Struve Paint and Decorating has evolved over the past 60 plus years from a contracting paint and hardware store to a paint and decorating store. Kenneth Struve started the business in 1947 with George Brumm. From 1948-1965 the Struve family lived in an apartment above the paint shop. A variety of other businesses were held in the adjacent little building. All of the family took their turn working in the store as they were growing up. In 1983, Ken’s son, Bruce, bought the family business. Today, the second floor of the store is the window, wall covering, and decorating department. This family owned business employs Bruce’s wife, Cheri, sister, Sandy, nephew, Steve, as well as several more employees.
